Hexago

Office supplies and more

Hexago was designed for a competition launched by Nomacorc. This company produces billions of synthetic corks each year and many have defects. I was asked by the company to find an innovative way of recycling this waste material effectively through design.

Hexago is a serie of objects made with Nomacorc's faulty corks. Lower parts are simply melted together to create various shapes and objects with very different uses. These creations can be placed in the office to stock all your pens and other supplies. Hexago can be made larger where the intrinsic proprieties of the corks are put forward. These take the shape of slabs laid on the floor for events like festivals or fitted on the walls to improve the acoustics and insulation.
