Up

Wood tower

This concept was developed for a competition launched by Liège city. The aim was to propose urban interventions to revitalize the Saint-Gilles disctrict which is more and more deserted by people and separated from downtown.

Exclusively in wood, Up is a 25-meters-high-tower with two purposes : firstly, it brings nature into downtown and between the buildings of Saint-Gilles street like a big tree. Local people can find relaxing environnements on the different plateforms and a bit of peace near the noisy city. Secondly, Up is a unique point of view of Liège city. It can attract tourists and local people in the district and revitalize it.

This concept was exhibited at the International Design Biennial in Liège, Reciprocity 2012, at the exhibition "Welcome to Saint-Gilles".
